How can I clean a vintage doll?
I have a 1963 shingle doll that I bought as a gift for my mom. She is a bit rancid odor and dirty with age. She has a soft body with vinyl limbs and head. What would be the best way to clean soft body part? What happens to the soft (stuffed?) party?
For vinyl dolls, you are very safe with any nonabrasive cleaner, start with something natural, like a mixture of vinegar, but you can try fantastic or 409, but not spray it on the wrist, spray it on the cloth and then wipe. After cleaning plastic or vinyl dolls, baby powder rubbed into the wrist full (no eyes or hair). They will be like new. I hope your mom likes it. Good luck!
