Where are some good spots to find and dig arrowheads or any other indian artifacts in Parker County, Texas?
I really don't think anyone is going to be that generous to give you any spots unless they don't use them anymore.. Best thing is to get a quad map of the areas around there.. look for highest ground..even if its only a foot higher.. also look for eroded places and agriculture that desturbs the earth pretty often and close to a body of water or where one used to be .. you can tell on the quads where old swamps,slews ,and rivers used to flow..look on the high ground there because the native americans would never stay more than half a mile away from fresh water and were deathly afraid of flash flooding since they didn't have locks and dams like we do,or levees..When you have found these suspected areas around there on the maps do a little leg work and look for broken pottery or flint chips..almost always a tale tale sign..but I have found beautiful big arrowheads where there shouldn't be so always check out road cuts,creeks that fall, eroded creek and river beds and keep your eyes down on the ground you will find em..and who knows..some old timer might tell you where to look..farmers are pretty nice and if you go to the feed stores and ask around..someone usually always knows where there were some or there is some..always ask a land owner..and they will always be glad to see you when you come to hunt
