When winter clothes with bamboo, pine, or the pattern of Plum Blossom and design are used to bring good luck and prosperity. The summer is the time of cotton clothing and winter clothing in layers and tightly aligned.

Hanfu or clothing of the Han Dynasty is the most famous ancient Chinese clothing. Inseparable from silk and used by the legendary Yellow Emperor, the Hanfu has a history of more than three millennia. Ancient Chinese clothing was mainly of suits with trousers for men and skirts for women under them. Modern Chinese clothing is a combination of western and old dress smartly and symbolism auspicious.
The informal Chinese clothing includes top and bottom and a piece robe wrapped once or more around the body. A typical set is Hanfu two or three layers where the first layer is the Zhongyi underwear white cotton or silk. The second layer is the entry closed clothing and optional third layer can be the Shan Zhao or coat. The suit may be "semi-formal", adding to it a pleated skirt (Chang), a cloth panel added to the waist belt and a hat formal (Guan). Meeting a guest or go to meetings or cultural day would encourage you to do "semi-formal".
Chinese formal wear reserves for special occasions like a major sacrifice or other religious activities or special people, like the emperors and officials. This includes Xuanduan, an equivalent the western black tunic and dark tie robes of a priest named full Fush. A Lanshan was used as an official or an academic gown.
