In January 1909 Location - China
A brief visit to China allowed me to fulfill the desire to travel in the best boat currently sailing the Yangtze River. Launched in July 2008, "the Yangzi Explorer 'offers a level of comfort never before experienced. Now run between Chongqing and Yichang, or vice versa, taking 4 days / 3 nights and days after 5 / 4 nights upstream.
It's in the way of the famous and spectacular of the Three Gorges and Three Gorges Dam including one hours 4 / 5 running through its five large lock chambers. Each has more than 60 feet wide and 900 feet long. Consisting of only 62 cabins that include 24 suites which carries a maximum of 124 people, although this number is usually not achieved if cabins are occupied by individual travelers. The luxury cottages, rooms whether as standard, are far from standard. At 27 meters are the size of a hotel room. The deluxe cabins have a good sized bathroom with marble walls and floors and a shower. There is plenty of room for a queen sized bed, and a flat screen TV on the wall means you have more room to move or relax on the sofa. Each cottage has a large window and balcony. The suites on board allow for increased living space or space for a party that time, if a group of friends or business clients traveling together.
The Yangzi Explorer is designed for both individuals and families. Beds extra can be put up in suites and deluxe cabins are interconnected, enabling families to enjoy time together. The cover of Explorer, which is in the top of the ship is divided into an outdoor area with hammocks and indoors, where you can relax on the padded floor chairs and large windows overlooking plumped sandwiches, tea and coffee during the day and evening cocktails. There is also a private dining room that can be booked. Also on board is a theater where demonstrations during the cruise are given and movies in China are controlled. More information on tea, dumpling making, the project of the Yangtze Three Gorge Dam, calligraphy pearls and painting snuff bottle. A quiet library is also available, perhaps after a spa treatment. During the cruise several trips are made in land. exact excursions depend on water levels and nationalities on board, but can include people and school visits, boat trips on smaller ships to some of the tributaries and narrow course, the Three Gorges Dam Project. Cuisine on board is international and included in the cruise price lunch and dinner are house wines and beer. The Yangzi Explorer navigates between mid-March and mid-November. Next the cruise that went to Beijing to visit three hotels, one of which was the new luxury 5 * Aman at Summer Palace. This is a property with a super fine service and exquisite furniture and all within the limits of the old Summer Palace located on the outskirts of Beijing. Near the door of the Palace this summer, Aman at Summer Palace, Beijing is in a range of housing, most of which dating back over a hundred years. Some of the original homes have been used by guests of the Summer Palace awaiting an audience with the Empress Dowager Cixi in the change of the twentieth century. You enter the property through an arch flanked by two massive red doors covered with bronze lacquered nails.
Here are 51 rooms and suites in total. The rooms, mostly decorated in Ming dynasty style canopy beds are in two new buildings by the main entrance. Suites are spacious and well decorated in the Ming style. Some offer a sitting area and bedroom, while others have a separate bedroom. In the main courtyard two underground levels, where there is a large fitness room, spa pool and swimming 25 meters. There are a number of bars and restaurants serving both international cuisine Chinese and an excellent selection of wines and a library. My favorite feature though is the wooden door that leads directly through private one of the walls station to expose the secrets of the Summer Palace itself. A meeting of the dawn means you will have the place almost to yourself.
